November 30th 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Barbados’ independence from Britain after more than 300 years of slavery and colonial rule. While many of the worlds nations faced bloody wars for independence,  Barbados’ movement towards self governance takes a different and longer process.This documentary explores some of the narratives as told by Barbadians, of the people and major events that helped pave the way for political independence in 1966.  With stories of pain,despair, triumph and perseverance, fused with music, poetry, art and history a chronicle of Barbados’ journey to Independence ’A Bajan Story’ is told.
